More fall beauty!

Was on a road trip to Cochrane for soccer yesterday.  Haven't driven that way in many years - the city has grown so far out that way, but there is still some beautiful country out there.  One of the things I love about the Calgary area is the many different landscapes - farm land, rolling hills, trees and the mountains - it's all here.  I only had time to stop for some quick shots, but played in photoshop to try to make it more dramatic.  I'll post the before (straight out of the camera) and the after (photoshopped).

Thanks for looking, friends!

Vintage look?

I found a blog that had an article showing how to alter a photo in PS to make it look "vintage".  Thought I'd try it on these train cars - what do you think???

Perfect Fall Friday

A few pictures from the beautiful day we had yesterday.  Mostly just a little color boost in PS and added texture for fun to a couple!  Feedback welcome!

I will post more soon!
Thanks for looking.

On your marks.....

Another highschool x-country meet on an extremely hot fall day!  A different persepective at the starting lineup --these feet were tired after!  Junior high boys ran awesome and placed first overall in the city for group points!!

Natures colors (and a little manmade thrown in too!)

This is what I love about where I live - beautiful sunsets on clear days that show such stunning silhouettes of the mountains.  Pardon the traffic in the forefront, but that's my view!

This is what it's all about!

Was at a highschool cross country meet yesterday - how inspiring to see this young Down Syndrome boy come across the finish line!  He was getting high fives at the finish!

Summer isn't over!

Straight out of the camera - no editing done.

I noticed how nice the light was as the sun set tonight, so I went out to play.  Trying something I read about on a photography blog - picking one focal length to shoot with rather than using the zoom on my lens.  Will try it for a few days!  Its all about getting out of the comfort zone!

This one is for Brent

Loved the canola fields this summer - this one is near Calmar, AB.  I love taking some back country roads and finding old buildings and hidden farms.  Boosted/adjusted the colors in photoshop.

Opinions needed please

I have been playing with a picture I took last fall while on a drive with my hubby.  I love the fall colors and love the red barn.  I'm just not sure if I need to crop it to make the picture look better, or leave the original.  I have 3 different "editions" - would love to hear which one you like the best?

Thanks for looking!!!

Chickadees

I love the little black capped Chickadees that come to my feeders.  They stay around all winter and happily sing away almost no matter how cold it is.  This winter, for some reason, I have had a number of occasions where a chickadee will flutter around one of the house windows, tapping and talking.  Not sure if they see their reflection, or maybe they are just so sick of winter, they want in where it's warm?  It's something I haven't seen them do before.

The baby of the house

Does someone need braces?
And maybe a good teeth cleaning?
But we still love her and she's quite adorable.

Can you say "Pampered Pooch"?

If there is a pillow or a blanket, Maisy is laying on it.  Does it look like this pillow belongs to her and only her?

Try try again

I am going to make an attempt to continue with my blog - maybe a picture a day was ambitious.  I have found it especially hard during winter to find inspiration!  Anyway, I'll post when I can - at least weekly?
I have discovered textures and the above photograph was altered in photoshop using a free texture I downloaded.  The first picture is my original, straight out of the camera, the 2nd one is cropped, textured and titled.  I think I could create some neat art with these!!
